6/27th Artillery Reunion Information and Registration

Greetings fellow Cannon Kings!

Good News! The 6/27th Artillery, Vietnam Vets, is booked for September 18 and 19, 2008 at the Radisson Hotel Branson Missouri.

Now it is time for you to do your part. 1. Make your travel plans now. 2. Reserve a room at the Radisson Hotel (or wherever you plan to stay). 3. Send in your registration fee. (Please be advised that your registration fee is non-refundable due to the Radisson Hotel minimum guarantees).

A. Drive, Fly or Walk to Branson, Missouri. Get their anyway you can!

B. Reserve a Room at the Radisson Hotel Branson at special rates. Use this number 888-566-5290 or 417-335-5767 to reserve your room. Double and King rooms are $89.00 + 11.6% Tax per day. Be sure to mention the 6/27th Artillery Vietnam Reunion to get this rate. Please Note: The hotel is holding a number of rooms for our event until August 18, 2008 and when they are booked this rate will no longer be honored. The hotel will honor this rate three days before and three days after the reunion (9/15 to 9/22/08 – subject to availability) You must arrange your travel to/ from Branson anyway you want.

C. See attached form you need to print and mail to John Wavra along with your Registration Fee.
We must receive your Registration Fee by August 31, 2008 (New Date) in order for you to attend. Please note – we must give the hotel dinner counts by 9/1/08 so we can not refund your fees unless you cancel by 8/31/08

Registration Fee: Vets - $90.00 and Spouses/Significant Others - $60.00. Vet + Spouse/Guest = $150.00

We must have your paid registration by August 31, 2008 (New Date) to satisfy the hotel guarantee for the dinner. If we do not receive registration fees for at least 30 attendees we may be forced to cancel the dinner.

Here is what is included in the Registration Fee:

1. Your portion of the expense for the Reception/Hospitality Meeting Room for Thursday afternoon and evening and Friday afternoon.
2. Snacks, drinks, coffee and ice at the Thursday Welcome/Hospitality Gathering.
3. Dinner – tax and gratuity and share of banquet room expenses. Wine with the meal as well as Coffee and Tea are included. Other beverages are not. There will be a cash bar on Friday Evening with a minimum guarantee of sales.

Because of the size of our group we could only go with one menu option served to all. The Menu will be:

Mediterranean Greek Salad
8 oz Center Cut Filet Mignon with Cabernet Béarnaise Sauce
Chef’s Selection of Potato, Seasonal Vegetables
Dessert: Vanilla “Turtle” Cheese Cake with Drizzled Carmel and Toasted Pecans
Red and White Wines as well as Sparkling Wine will be served

(Please advise us if you require a vegetarian meal and we will work with the hotel to provide such)

(Note: If any money is left after all expenses are paid we will advise you of the amount and then bank it for the next reunion. None of us wants to get stuck picking up any extra charges so if expenses run higher then estimated we will ask for your contributions in that event.)

Guys, as with the 2004 and 2006 Reunions this is an informal gathering. We have no plans for boring meetings, long-winded-speeches, corny events or any entertainment. This Reunion is simply an opportunity to get together, meet new and old friends, remember Vietnam and our time with the 6/27th Artillery and hopefully have a good time. With that said, we again tried to keep it simple:

Thursday, September 18, 2008 - 10:00 a.m. 11:00 p.m.

Registration and Hospitality Meeting - Gather in the 6/27th Artillery Hospitality/Reception Meeting Room at Radisson Hotel Branson. We will let you know where it is or check at the desk when you check-in. We will provide snacks and some refreshments – coffee, water, sodas, beer (Cost is included in your Registration Fee). Feel free to stop in anytime during this time period and stay as long as you like. Lunch and dinner that day are not planned so you are on your own, but we encourage you to spend the day and evening in the Hospitality Meeting Room.

Friday, September 19, 2008 – Breakfast 8:00 a.m. Hospitality Room Open 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

You are invited to an informal gathering for breakfast at the Radisson Hotel Veteran’s Café buffet. Cost of Buffet is not included in your registration so be prepared to pay the approximate $13.00 per person cost or order from the menu. Anyone interested should meet outside the Veteran’s Café at 8:00 a.m. The Hospitality Room will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You are encouraged to stop by to visit with new and old friends.

Friday Evening, September 19, 2008 - Dinner – 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Location will be in one of the Radisson Hotel Branson banquet rooms to be announced later. (All costs excluding alcoholic/other drinks are included in your registration) A Cash Bar will be available (6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p. m). After dinner we plan around-the-room self-introductions. Later everyone will have an opportunity to say a few words, tell a story, relate a memory or whatever, if they choose and time permits. No planned speakers or formal program other then your hosts welcome and a remembrance of fallen comrades. We will take a group photo near end of dinner. You are on your own for breakfast (see above) and lunch this day. Spend time with a fellow vet(s), take in some sun around the hotel pool, visit the Titanic Museum or attend one of the many Branson Shows.
