Jim Thomson.  Jim Thomson in quarters at Service Battery at Long Binh. This may have been the original officer’s hooch.  This is the BOQ at Service Battery at Long Binh. It was started as the small 4 or 6-man BOQ shown in the previous picture with Jim Thomson , and was  expanded as shown in this photo to accommodate the many officer visitors who passed through Service Battery.

Typical of artillery designed for separate loading ammunition (separate projectile, propellant charge, and primer: no shell casing) it has a step-threaded interrupted screw type of breech block with a mushroom head obturator.  Up that long 175 mm tube.  Headquarters Battery, Met Section in the distance.  More Headquarters Battery.
